Roses Are Red, My Love

Paul Evans has had the most amazing career in the record business. It started when he was a teenager with his first hit as a songwriter, "When" recorded by the Kalin Twins, and it continues to this day with his song and vocal, "Happy-Go-Lucky Me" featured in the film "Pecker", directed by the famed cult director John Waters. Along the way, his songs and his recordings as an artist ("Seven Little Girls", "Midnight Special" and "Hello, This Is Joannie" which I had the pleasure of producing), have sold in the multi-millions. His song, "Roses Are Red (My Love)" recorded by Bobby Vinton, has become a mega pop standard. This CD includes, for the first time, Paul's own unique interpretation of "Roses", plus his contemporary version of the previously mentioned, "When".
Paul has written songs for Elvis (" I Gotta Know" and others), and his commercial jingle, "Happiness Is" is one of the most successful advertising campaigns in TV and Radio history. His songwriting collaborators, Al Byron, Jack Reardon, Paul Parnes, and quite a few others, are the best in the business.
Rumor has it that the song, "Weekend Daddy", included in this CD, was originally written for Elvis and Lisa Marie. However, Paul insists that it was written because of his own experience as a divorced father. In any event, the incredible career continues!
