Family Standards evolved because one mom felt there was a lack of family music available. Music is generally targeted to either children or adults. Yet, there are so many wonderful songs that both children and their parents can appreciate. Cole Porter wrote a score for Aladdin; Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote a score for Cinderella; Sammy Cahn wrote about Nursery Rhymes; Jimmy Van Heusen wrote about stubbing your toe on the moon; and so on. Even the greatest songwriters were parents. |
